Troubleshooting a Dead WiFi Extender
If the Belkin Extender is down, it can disrupt the whole wireless experience. Luckily, the solutions are rather simple and can be used to restore service quickly.
The whole thing should have started by checking the extender's placement. Is it too far from the router? Try moving it closer. Still no luck? It might require a reset. Another critical thing to remember is knowing how to reset Belkin Extender devices properly: hold the reset button for at least 10 seconds until you see the lights blink, then release. Allow the extender some moments to reboot and restore itself to factory settings.
If this still does not work, then it may be the router causing the problem. Setting a reset on the Belkin router may help as well. Reset the router by pressing the reset button for about 10 seconds; after this, install the extender again.
After setting both devices back to the factory defaults, reconnect to the setup network and go to the configuration page, where you will be prompted to wirelessly reestablish the link. Also, check that the firmware has been updated since interference from another electrical device can generate this.
If, after all these actions, the Belkin Extender not working, try performing the setup procedure on a different device or in another browser. Sometimes, incompatibility issues stop devices from working in concert.
Fixing an extender that has stopped working doesn't have to fill you with frustration. It can easily regain full wireless coverage with a little repositioning, reset, and reconfiguration.
